The Hetherley team is made up of exceptional individuals with first-hand experience in hotel ownership and investment, asset management and hotel operations management. Senior Directors of the firm collectively bring more than 60 years’ combined experience in the hotel industry to bear on every hotel investment decision.


Charles Scudamore

CEO & Founder

Charles Scudamore is CEO & Founder of Hetherley Capital Partners.

In this capacity, he oversees all functions of the business, including fundraising, portfolio asset management and investor relations. He is ultimately responsible for managing all joint venture partners of Hetherley Capital and overseeing the performance of its investments.

Prior to Hetherley, Charles spent 15 years in hotel investment advisory with TRI Consulting, since acquired by CBRE Hotels. As Director, he advised private clients on hotel investments and acquisition strategy across 20 countries in Europe.

Charles holds a BSc (Hons) degree from Surrey University. He is married with three children and enjoys most sports that keep him fit and active. He is a regular charitable donor and has undertaken a number of challenges raising money for selected charities.


Stephane Lalou

Executive Vice President

Stephane Lalou is Executive Vice President of Hetherley Capital Partners.

In this capacity, he oversees the asset management and acquisition strategy of Hetherley. He takes a leading role in investment underwriting and project deal structuring. He also manages Hetherley’s relationships with its senior debt and equity partners.

Stephane has over 20 years’ experience in the sector, including 8 years with JJW Hotels & Resorts, leading the asset management and management of over 70 hotels valued at over USD$9bn and 4 years with UK-based private equity hotel investor, EQ Group overseeing the performance of its USD$1bn hotel portfolio. In this role, he gained experience in multi-unit asset management, capital planning and asset restructuring.

Stephane is a graduate of École hôtelière de Lausanne.


Jonathan Langston

Board Advisor

Jonathan is a widely respected industry veteran and Board Advisor to Hetherley Capital Partners.

Jonathan’s career in the UK hotel sector stretches back more than 40 years, including as a Senior Director at CBRE Hotels and Managing Director of hotel investment advisory firm, TRI Hospitality Consulting. Jonathan advises the board on hotel acquisitions and investment strategy.

He is co-founder of HotStats, The AHC and Adsertor as well as being Chair of The International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF) Berlin.


Phillip Shepherd

Board Advisor

Philip is an ex-partner of PriceWaterhouse Coopers (“PWC”) and Board Advisor to Hetherley Capital Partners.

A qualified chartered accountant (ACA), Philip advises the Hetherley board on commercial strategy, capital raising and corporate governance. Philip brings with him a wealth of experience across different industry sectors, including private equity, hospitality & leisure and investment banking.

Philip is a graduate of Imperial College, London.


Joe Puskorius

Analyst

Joe is an Analyst at Hetherley Capital Partners, responsible for revenue management and data analytics across the portfolio.

Prior to joining Hetherley Joe worked with RBH Hospitality, a leading hotel management company in Europe, overseeing the performance of a multi-unit portfolio of branded and independent hotels. He has extensive experience in yield management, distribution and data analytics. He has previously worked with a number of hotel brand partners, including IHG, Marriott, Accor & Hilton.

Joe brings a proven track record in enhancing hotel capital value through effective yield and distribution management. He is a firm believer in the role of technology to drive change and the beneficial impact data analytics can provide modern hotel operations.


John Mauchline

Associate Director – Finance

John Mauchline joined Hetherley Capital Partners in the summer of 2017 as an associate. With experience spanning three decades he has worked in a variety of national and international organisations gaining further experience overseas.

As a Financial Director, John was part of the senior team for the opening and business development of a new 240 bedroom, 4-Star City Centre Hotel in Edinburgh. John spent a very successful and rewarding 12-years with Crieff Hydro Limited as their Financial Director.

In 2011 he was awarded Fellowship status with CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants) in recognition of the breadth and depth of his financial, accounting and strategic management experience.
